packaging
ak products make ideal presents, but presents can mean reams of wasteful wrapping. Similarly, transporting goods around the world can be as costly on your budget as on the environment. To eliminate unnecessary wrapping, we create integrated product packaging that looks better ‘naked’ than wrapped and can be used later for storage and other purposes. This works well if purchasing from our shop, however it may not be viable for an international mail order, which must be further wrapped (or boxed) to ensure the goods arrive safely. To assist with freight costs, we offer various packaging options to suit different situations and requirements. For example, your ak doll kit can be packaged in ak’s large printed work-box or our printed cylinder or less weighty printed calico tote. Each has charm and will include a complementary ak card explaining the origins of the product you’ve selected.

shipping and handling: Within Australia
we send all orders via Australia Post using Express Post Satchels (yellow) as standard because this service is quick, cost effective and enables parcels to be traced using a tracking number that we retain as part of our postal records.
Express Post Satchels
the postage charge attached to your order will be made up of the cost of the Express Post Satchel, packaging materials and a handling charge.
The direct cost of Express Post Satchels is as follows;
500gm -$7.50
3kg (small) - $10.50
3 kg (large) -$13.00
5kg (large) – $18.00
In most cases, Express Post Satchels represent a safe and effective method particularly when combined with padding or bubble wrap. However, at times goods may require more protective boxed packaging or better suit regular parcel post and we will inform you about this when confirming your order.
of course, deliveries can go astray and whilst we take care to ensure your order arrives safely, we cannot be held responsible for lost or damaged goods.
please note. Express Post Satchels are covered by Australia Post to a value of $50.00 but cannot be insured separately.
Unregistered orders that fail to arrive will not be replaced.
If the security of your order is a particular concern we suggest you opt for regular registered parcel post. Please discuss this option with us at time of order.

your destination may dictate the freight service required – Express Courier, Airmail, first class or standard post. Please indicate your shipping preferences when ordering and if necessary contact us - we will confirm costs before dispatching your goods.
terms and conditions
ak is not a supermarket – we intentionally make in limited quantities principally by hand. As a consequence some correspondence, via email or telephone, may be necessary to finalise your order but we will do our best to meet your wishes.
delivery times are indicative – again we will do our best to fill your order as quickly as possible however many ak hand made products are made to order and this takes time. If a delay occurs, you will be kept informed about the status of your order. To eliminate disappointments please assist us by letting us know when ordering if you have a specific timeframe or date you need to meet.
all orders are considered binding.
if you are unhappy with your goods please return within 5 days and subject to the condition being as new, we will try to satisfy your concerns. Original shipping costs or any additional costs incurred through the return of goods will not be reimbursed.
