Tuesday night knitting ‘upstairs at ak’. If you love knitting and crochet and want to learn more, come and join us for a knit and natter every Tuesday evening. This is the ideal opportunity to enlarge your knowledge about different aspects of knitting and crochet, get some technical advice or help with a current project. We can assist you to choose yarn, decipher patterns, understand knitting jargon and give your work a more professional finish. If you have always wanted to know how to change patterns or make up your own designs or make up your own designs, we can get you started. Look through the latest knitting magazines and catch up on trends for winter. The evening is great fun, informative and guaranteed to improve your knitting. Bring along your own work – or an idea – or even a problem and Judith and Helen will get you started or sort out. Supper including food, coffee and wine is served – come on a casual basis or every week – $20.00 a night, 7–10pm plus a 10% discount on yarns and knitting books. Ideal for beginners or experienced knitters.

Saturday mornings at ak Tuesday evenings have proved so successful that we have decided to introduce a similar programme for Saturday to meet requests from those of you who have time conflicts on Tuesday or live outside the area. The session will be run along the same lines – join us with an on-going project, an idea or a problem and we will get you started, inspired, set-up or sorted out. If you have a specific skill you wish to master such as crochet this morning will be an ideal opportunity to learn – and as always the emphasis will be on helping you to improve the appearance of your finished work through learning the correct finishing techniques. Beginners and experienced knitters welcome.
After the Easter break the weather often changes quickly – knitting is the perfect pastime for cooler weekends, so come in and have some morning tea, receive an ak knitting bag and even a discount on your yarn and associated purchases.
