Dinara, is dressed to represent the colourful textile traditions of central Asia. Her cotton print dress is reminiscent of printed Russian cottons from the 1940’s and 50’s, while her hand-made felt pinafore, boots and hat reflect the fact that felt originated in this region centuries ago. The felt flower on her hat evokes the Kyrgyz love of flowers and nature, favourite themes in traditional dowry cloths and embroideries.
