ak’s original kit was conceived as a structured, achievable programme, designed to introduce adults and children alike to the joy of traditional handwork. It contains everything you will need to learn the basics of knitting and embroidery – even Dinara, our handmade felt doll. Practice your new skills as you make a knitted jacket, hat, bag and scarf for Dinara. Then use our instructions and your imagination to embroider and decorate her removable felt skirt with the threads, felt motifs and beads supplied. As your ability and confidence develops, you will be able to go on and create a unique wardrobe for your doll with the patterns included.
This kit comprises
- ‘Dinara’, dressed in a removable felt skirt and boots.
- a book containing basic knitting instructions, a guide to working simple embroidery stitches and making trims and tassels to embelish your knitting and knitting patterns for a jacket, scarf, hat, pants, cardigan, skirt, poncho and blanket.
- a felt and fabric sewing sack containg scissors, sewing needles, thread, colour co–ordinated embroidery threads, felt motifs, felt flowers, beads, tape measure and pin-cushion.
- a French knitting bobbin and crotchet hook.
- Jo Sharp 100% wool DK in co–ordinated colours to knit a four piece outfit.
- 5mm knitting needles.
Suitable for children 8 years and up. Patterns fit a standard 45cm doll.
