tradition is not static... it evolves
Tradition is not static. It is a living thing that evolves gradually with all the influences on a community contact with outsiders, prosperity or hardship, climatic change. Within a community, rural or urban a sense of identity and belonging is marked by the clothes that people wear and the textiles they make. Tradition does not exert a stranglehold, but provides a foundation on which a fertile imagination may build.
